The first of a three-book story arc about the American Revolution, The Redcoats Are Coming follows Patrick and Beth as they assist the revolutionaries by waking up the sleeping citizens of 1775 Concord before the Redcoats come. In this adventure, the cousins meet Paul Revere, Samuel Adams, and John Hancock. They help smuggle musket balls, sound the alarm that the Redcoats are coming, and deliver a secret message to Paul Revere. Along the way they learn that most of the revolutionaries leaned on God’s direction and even pastors helped in the cause.

Christian parents and teachers will appreciate the historical facts as well as the biblical worldview training their kids and students will absorb. The kids will appreciate the excitement and tension of an America at war with England, and in some ways, with itself. A curriculum for Christian schools and homeschool families is available for download from Focus on the Family.

Great Sub-series Within a Series!

Just like the other Imagination Station books, my kiddos and I loved this one! This is the first in a sub-series revolving around the Revolutionary War. We read this book as part of a homeschool unit study on the American Revolution. Like the other Imagination Station books, this had all of my kids (ages 6, 9, and 10) on the edge of their seats--we do these ones as read-alouds, though one of my daughters read it in advance and was excited that we were going to use it for school. The end of the book was especially surprising--the perfect cliff hanger! We've already ordered the next book, Captured on the High Seas, and can't wait to receive it!

Great book that has actual Revolutionary history!

In this book Patrick and Beth are sent by Mr. Whittaker to give a letter to Paul Revere. They are sent to warn the colonists that the redcoats are coming! Two British spies almost catch them more than once! At the end one of them shoot the Imagination Station. It takes them to the middle of the war on a ship at sea! My favorite part is where Mr. Brown falls through the step trying to catch Beth. This is a good book for kids ages 8-11. By: Joshua, age 10

Good series for kids

8 year old loved it. Read it in about an hour in one sitting but she has quite an appetite for reading.

Riveting

Kept me on the edge of my seat. This is just immediately before the Revolutionary War began. The cousins have a letter to give to Paul Revere. But meanwhile, the cousins get entangled with the Patriots, which is considered treason. How do they get out of this mess? You'll have to read to find out.

Kids love them...

My kids love this series. Every new book that comes out is immediately on their "wish list". The books are simple and easily read. The history presented in them is simple... but engaging. And they always bring out good lessons.

Fun series

My 8-year-old has read the whole series. This is a great way to get a kid interested in history as well as to reinforce truths about God and about good character. The Revolutionary War installment was a special bonus for us!

Great series!

This book series is a favored among our 5 children! They are anxiously awaiting the next book to come out due in May 2014.

Love this series

Kids love this series! Sons who were struggling readers, and didn't want to read anything want all of these books. Good, clean, exciting fun books for kids.

Great book.

I love it a lot! The fights are great. I love that they talk about the Bible. I would recommend this to anyone. - review by a 7 yr old.
